Kit is an earning-and-learning money app helping young people do more. Our nifty nudges and kid-friendly explainers make money make sense. Kids learn best by in-the-moment experience, so we built Kit – our friendly sidekick. Kit has the smart money know-how to nurture positive behaviours through nifty nudges and bite-sized educational content.

Where do you fit in?
In this role you will blend design vision, mentorship/coaching with hands-on delivery in digital product to deliver on our mission to help families improve the financial capability of their children.
Your role includes responsibility for:
- User research and product design (app, website and other marketing channels as required)
- Setting the direction and ensuring the quality, creativity, and delivery of the design team
- Ensuring that the brand is brought to life in the digital experience.
You will work closely with the Managing Director, Chief Marketing & Brand Officer, Chief Risk & Operations Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Product Managers to create a design that parents, children, and community love.
Responsibilities
Creating and implementing kid-first, customer-led experience strategy, designing high level visual concepts and interactions to set vision and gaining buy-in from the Kit team.
Oversee the execution and synthesis of customer research (adhoc and ongoing) and testing.
Oversee the creation of assets, working collaboratively across functions (Technology, Product, Marketing, Operations) to ensure customer as well as business needs are met, and that there is strong alignment between the app and the Kit brand principles and tone of voice.
Be an advocate for design across the Kit team and effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
Produce user flows, wireframes/prototypes, interface designs, screen layouts, and design specifications for our digital channels (app and website), as well as Marketing creative.
Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented.
Champion design and design standards across the Kit organisation.
Lead, manage, develop, and grow your team of designers by filling in skills gaps with mentoring, constructive feedback, guidance and elevate the skills of the team and support each designer in their career development.
Ensure the team has in place the appropriate design system, processes, and workflows. You will look after the team’s performance, filling the skill gap when required with mentorship, guidance and elevate the skills of the team and support each designer in their career development.
