What We Need

Shaype is experiencing rapid growth as we scale our embedded finance ecosystem. To support this, we’re seeking a Product Manager to join our Australian team. This role is a direct report to the Head of Product (Australia) and will play a critical role in shaping product features, partnering with vendors, and ensuring successful delivery of capabilities that align with Shaype’s strategic objectives.

The right candidate will be a hands-on product professional who thrives in fast-moving environments, has strong payments domain knowledge, and is equally comfortable with product execution and vendor engagement.

This role is Sydney based and offers flexible working arrangements – up to 3 days per week working from home.
About the role
As Product Manager, you will help drive Shaype’s product portfolio by working with stakeholders, customers, and vendors to design, deliver, and improve payment products and features.
You’ll support the Head of Product in shaping product direction and ensuring that what we build meets client needs, aligns with regulatory requirements, and strengthens Shaype’s position in the market.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Product Development

Research and evaluate payment and account product opportunities to drive client acquisition and growth.

Define and prioritise product requirements, balancing customer needs, market opportunities, and regulatory obligations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product strategy into clear delivery outcomes.

Monitor product and feature performance, using data and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement
Vendor and Stakeholder Management

Manage relationships with payment processors, card networks, and key technology partners.

Lead regular vendor reviews, manage escalations, and influence for stronger outcomes.

Work closely with engineers, customer success, compliance, and risk to ensure aligned delivery.

Support go-to-market activities, including defining success metrics and adoption plans.

Communicate recommendations, risks, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders, including the Product Committee.

Ensure regulatory, privacy, legal, and servicing considerations are integrated into product design.
​What experience will you have
-
5+ years professional experience in digital payment products (card, real-time, direct entry) as a Product Manager, Product Designer, or BA, ideally in a fintech.

Strong ability to research and frame customer pain points, assess opportunities, and recommend clear next steps.

Proven track record of engaging and collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.

Skilled at translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Excellent vendor management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
